As I sit here at my laptop and I’m looking at the screen, I see a blank page…

..or at least for a while, until I started writing this, of course.

But as I was staring at the blank page, it made me think about how under-estimated the power of a blank page is…

I recently went out for a coastal walk to evaluate where I am within myself, what direction I was going and if it was the right one, but at the same time enjoy the purposelessness of a walk along the beach, and look out to a view that not many people can see so readily.  I continued on my walk until I got to the next town 1.5km away.  I walked around the town and eventually found myself a bench to sit on.

I closed my eyes and connected with the nature that surrounded my senses.  I could feel the strength of the winds blowing through me, the sweet chirping of the birds in the trees and the mechanical hum of engines from the cars that drove past.  As I sat there, I connected with nature in a way that I haven’t before.  I sat there and reminded myself that I am the wind, and the wind is me.

I am the wind, and the wind is me.

And then I realised…

…that all I had to do was start again.

A blank page.

When I was sat on that bench and I opened my eyes, I saw the world differently.  I looked around and felt like a boy that was about to experience a world he hasn’t yet seen before. The beautiful wild flowers, the patterns that surround us that we don’t normally see because we never look.

If you ever get “stuck in a rut”, take control, and start again.

Remember, this post was just a blank page.

I took control, and so can you.
